Construct an installation of over grown jungle - fauna and flora throughout the space to obstruct the visual and physical space. Creating narrow pathways with the flora and fauna that push the viewer to brush up against the surrounding plants- Then incorporating Mels Ardunio to create sounds from the plants that the viewers brush against.
Dealing with the ideas of obstructing the space to push the viewer into an awareness of their new surroundings. Push them from there comfort level with Casa Lin. When the viewer pushes against the plants and then a sound is created - hopefully a hyperawareness/intimacy is created with the /small space/plants- allowing the viewer to have a connection that we aren't necessarily pushing on them.
Other artist who work with similar thoughts, but on a minimal level would be Dan Graham. This specific piece in the site breaks the space. It is set right in the middle of the grass. It obstructs the visuals from outer edges of the space. When close to it the viewer experiences some type of self connection and interaction with the reflection which could create thoughts of nature and self.

I think changing the way you would usually interact with Casa Lin by changing the visual/physical interaction drastically could really work. Outsourcing from homestead to acquire the plants, or even work with a organization that plants trees for environmental reasons. Like get them to donate x amount of trees and then after the exhibition we set up a community tree planting event. So that everything goes back into the community. Time: Have to rent a truck, or borrow trucks to get the plants over. The most time consuming process of this would be to hook up the Ardunio to the plants..but I'm sure once tackled could be quick- maybe done way before the morning of install.
Lizzy I think outsourcing plants from different organization its a great idea. Valeria and Jon also mention overfilling the space with plants. Although, they were talking about fake plants. I support!....Since we started this class I've had in mind the use of glass and mirrors but as we started researching I feel like they are so overused for the same purpose of reflecting, refracting, decomposing and recomposing the landscape and disorienting the subject walking trough...can we find other material that works in a similar way?... or if we use it lets have a clear statement of how is it different from their approach and what can we do with it so that it is presented in a different way. Looking Forward to talk about all this.
