THE PORTAL
I have this stubborn idea ever since Jessica mentioned something about different levels of positioning our body in relation to the ground. I feel like forcing people to follow one single path. like if half way the entrance where the tree is we put up a barrier. I am imagining this could be put together combining Melanie's icy looking water and Ketty's water falls and the only way to trespass the barrier is by climbing up the tree. we can use different methods of climbing the tree to come to mind a ladder or a very inclined "wood ramp covered with grass". I am not thinking of this as the whole of the installation but as a kind of portal to it.
I imagine a group of people standing in front of the portal just thinking of what to do....should they climb up the tree? ...all the fancy girls and guys will they do it? will the old people take a chance? they all can see an illusion of what there is behind the "water wall".....will some walk through the water wall? mean while they make up their mind there is some mimosas being served and some benches to sit and watch....i am hoping some will walk away from it with out nothing more that the illusion and the taste of the "morning cocktail"
I think the portal addresses many of the things we have been talking about some how even intimacy. climbing up the tree in a latter will make you first aware of your body....I imagine all the things one can think meanwhile. Am i nervous? Am i afraid of hight's? when was the last time i was on a tree? i am not properly dressed. I feel like a hamster in a cage maybe i've always been a hamster in a cage getting entertained with monumental toys..... I see the portal as a kind of preparation, everyone inside the portal has some common experience that connects them and brings them together as one.
I am thinking of artist like Mechain Francois......

and Nicky Assmann's Solace installation.
MODE OF ENGAGEMENT # 2
THE PLAYGROUND
(The garden as a place for entertainment)
I would like for people to follow a path that becomes smaller and smaller that they need to crawl and maybe after that they get to spot that is surrounded by a clear barrier (this space could be the left corner of Casalin that looks like a mini jungle and its kind of dark.

It can also have a grass floor that it is inclined in 50 degree angle. The surface can be conductible so that we can install an arduino and activate some kind of sound or element that activates with each step.

MODE OF ENGAGEMENT #3
(The garden as a place for relaxation)
There are two projects of Sou Fujimoto that combined and re addressed could be very helpful for the construction of some type of walk in and through structure that lets us experience the garden from different level of altitude: one is the Artribune; and the other one is wooden house.

what I like about Artribune is the placement and elevation of the plants. what i like about Wooden house is the way light comes in to the space and the different windows that the place creates. I am also attracted to the yenga(table game) look.

MODE OF ENGAGEMENT #4
THE CARPET
(an invitation to the garden)
This came from Valeria's idea to mark a path through the garden with a simple carpet. I was thinking of a carpet that comes from outside Casalin and when it gets to Casalin it starts going up and down and around the trees and plants with different inclinations (not meant for people to walk on it anymore). I imagine like a line that becomes raveled. Maybe this path also has Arduino system programed to make sound or to trigger some other kind of response when the people walk on the carpet.
